Frequently asked questions

How does BellyCue actually find my triggers?

Over a 14-day test, you log meals and symptoms. Cue then compares how often a symptom shows up when you've eaten a given food versus when you haven't — across 2–72 hour windows, since bloating and IBS symptoms often show up long after the meal. Foods need to be eaten at least a few times with enough contrast in your data before Cue calls them a trigger, so early results are labeled "possible" or "worth watching" rather than confirmed.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There's no sign-up, login, or account of any kind. Your data lives on your iPhone.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your meals, symptoms, bowel logs, mood, and analysis are stored locally on your device. The only exception is that the text/photo of a meal you log is sent to our AI service to recognize the foods in it — nothing else leaves your phone. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Is BellyCue a medical device or a diagnosis tool?

No. BellyCue is a wellness and self-tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and it isn't a replacement for seeing a doctor or dietitian. We built the doctor PDF export specifically so you can bring what you've found to a professional for a real diagnosis.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple through the App Store, so cancellation happens there too: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → BellyCue, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us directly — we don't have the ability to process them ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or via Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Since everything is stored locally, deleting BellyCue removes your logs from the device along with it. Export a PDF report first from the Report tab if you want to keep a copy.

I found a bug, or a food isn't being recognized correctly

Please email us at dkov.dev@gmail.com with what happened and, if you can, a screenshot — it helps a lot. Any food you type or say becomes a tracked ingredient even if it's not in our built-in list, so most "unrecognized food" reports turn out to be about the FODMAP tag or icon rather than tracking itself.

Does BellyCue work offline?

Logging, your Trigger Report, Trends, and PDF export all work without an internet connection. Only the optional AI-assisted food recognition (the "Smart" parsing button) needs connectivity — if it's unreachable, BellyCue falls back to on-device recognition.
